Boarding on for CFA Studies? Let us talk about ...
- Irshad JACKARIA
Let's talk about ... only what matters. There is so much to consider, yet it can be one of the easiest decision that you will ever take. The reason is that there is nothing compared to CFA studies. Anyone who has taken this route will probably tell you same. It will be either yes .. or there is no alternative. But, the moment that you give your go-ahead, everything changes.
At Knowledge of the ART, we will be by your side across your CFA odyssey, and we will provide you with the ideal level of inspiration, support, knowledge, practices and techniques. We are actually the only one in Mauritius to propose structured coaching and to have current participants in all the 3 levels for CFA studies. For each level, we have a programme of 100 hours. Today, I want to share with you the lessons learnt from the experiences of our past and current students.
The primary challenge will be for you to maintain the momentum over 35 weeks ... from our first lesson to the exam's day. During that period, one may fall sick, may be physically drained due to work pressure or be mentally stressed due to the intricacies of life. It will be vital for you not to lose your focus and get back to your 5th gear as soon as possible. The very fact that we are talking about this, is in itself a first step into managing it. You have to be studious during those 35 weeks, and, we will be by your side.
Second, it will be for you to sustain the work consistency over the nine months or so, from September 2020 to May 2021. During that interval, one may feel demotivated, may be out of steam due to overall fatigue and may be time pressed due to unexpected events in your life. It will be mandatory for you not to lose your faith and restart believing in your capabilities as quickly as possible. And, you can count on me to make you revive your senses.
Third, you will have to respect our philosophy and match our pace of work. We have developed, over the years, a unique itinerary, with a pinpointed and meticulous approach, coupled with a highly disciplined step-by-step process and enhanced through with mnemonics, notes-taking skills and exam-like question practices. Do what you are told to do, and leave the rest on me. I will work for you.
CFA studies are not for those who keep on complaining about its level of difficulty, not for those who are doing it just to brag about being a CFA Level I student, and show it off on their professional social media page. But, with the right ingredients, it will be the experience of a lifetime, it will open new doors of opportunities, it will equip you with the self-belief to face the challenges of an increasingly more complex financial and business world.
As your coach, I will be there for you:
- to alleviate the numerous complexities of the curriculum, but there will be no spoon-feeding, as this is the sure recipe for failure.
- to climb by your side, and support you especially during the slippery parts, but I will not pull you up the cliff, as this will lead to your precipitated fall.
- to individually mark your exercises and monitor your specific performance, but there will be no space for lethargy, as this is fastest way for you to lose track.
If you do not agree with what I said above, then, I am not the one with whom you need to share your CFA journey. For the others ... well ... the ball is on the field ... we are in the same team ... let's play.
